Training to become an NPQ Facilitator
In collaboration with UCL, NPQ facilitator training was delivered to senior staff from WLTSA schools in June 2016. We hope to repeat this again perhaps in July or Sept 2017 but at the moment (28 June 2071) we still await an announcement from DfE about accredited providers for the newly overhauled programmes.
All training, course materials and support are provided to facilitators by the UCL (IOE) and this will enable facilitators to not only deliver sessions within their own cluster (WLTSA) but also at UCL (Institute of Education) if they wished to extend their practice.
As a very general guide, we anticipate that those interested in delivering the NPQML would need to be at least senior middle leaders/assistant head teachers or deputy head teachers. Those wishing to deliver NPQSL would need to be headteachers or experienced deputies, but see below for further guidance on the selection criteria.
The following payments were available last year and will need to be confirmed for 2017-18 after the DfE announcement:
£350 for the delivery of each session (9.30-4.30pm), and facilitators need not be limited by WLTSA cluster dates but could opt to deliver sessions also at UCL.
If you are interested in becoming a facilitator please email Caitriona Powell
There would be a short application for to complete and return to Caitriona Powell.
Last year’s application form and selection criteria are linked below for information. We do not anticipate these to change when we re-run training but this will be confirmed in due course.
