All applications for WLTSA courses are considered by the school that you identified in your application, in collaboration with WLTSA centrally and the university.  The administration of this process all takes place through the WLTSA Teaching School Office (0208 748 7600).

Interviews are scheduled throughout the academic year as applications come in and courses are closed as they fill up. Our vacancy listed is updated regularly to show this.

The interview process is different depending on which university accredits the course and we include details below relating to our courses accredited by St Mary's, Roehampton and UCL.

Before Covid, interviews were conducted face to face but for the time being all interviews are online.  We anticipate that this new system will persist certainly throughout the autumn term, and possibly for the remainder of the year.

For salaried courses there is one online interview with the school alone.  Please send scans of your ID documents, degree and maths & English GCSEs to Alex Dijkhuis

For unsalaried courses there is an initial online interview with the university, and if you pass this, a further online interview with the school a few days later. We will ask St Mary's University to email you about uploading scans of various documents to their portal.  This will include identification documents and relevant qualification certificates and transcripts if you have them available (see course requirements later below).

They may also ask you to complete a brief subject audit questionnaire.  This will help us to establish the range of your subject knowledge and whether or not a free subject knowledge enhancement course may be needed as a condition, if an offer is made.  This can all be discussed at interview.

If you are still taking your degree or GCSE equivalency tests, that’s fine but if you don’t have access to original certificates of exams already taken for your degree and maths and English GCSEs, this is something that you should start to resolve now.  If you don’t have them in time for the interview, please be assured that we could still make an offer to you but it would be subject to later verification of your qualification certificates and sometimes certified copies can take a couple of months to arrive.

One online interview with the school. The university may sometimes join us for these interviews.  Please send scans of your ID documents, degree and maths & English GCSEs to Alex Dijkhuis

These courses have a two stage interview.  Once you have been shortlisted the first interview takes place online with the school without the university present. Please send scans of your ID documents, degree and maths & English GCSEs to Alex Dijkhuis

Any successful candidate from the school interview is then invited to attend an interview at the university. The university aim to ensure that their interview take place within 15 days of the referral from the school interview.
